Excel

Soft Disable

Soft Disable lets you temporarily disable Macabacus tools, including most ribbon controls, keyboard shortcuts, and operations performed automatically upon events (e.g., selection changes). It also closes all Macabacus task panes (e.g., Explorer, Tab Browser, Library). The result is similar to disabling the Macabacus add-in from Excel's COM Add-Ins dialog, but is more easily accessible—simply click the Pause button on the Macabacus tab to soft disable Macabacus, and the Resume button to restore Macabacus to its prior state (with the exception of task panes).

Use Soft Disable primarily when Macabacus seems to be impacting Excel performance, or for troubleshooting a problem that you are not sure is related to Macabacus. Macabacus does not generally impact Excel performance noticeably when enabled, but if pausing Macabacus seems to improves performance, then consider disabling individual Macabacus features that listen for events (e.g., AutoColor on Entry, Undo/Redo), and/or closing unnecessary task panes (e.g., Tab Browser).

This documentation refers to Macabacus version 8.10.0. Some features and descriptions of these features may not
